Simon the Sorceror 2

I recently downloaded Simon the Sorceror 2 CD32 in nrg format. When I try to load it using Alcohal 120 it does not boot. I have no problems with other cue and bin images when mounted on Alcohol .

Are nrg images not compatible with winuae 1.2 with CD32 configurations ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Simon 2 is no CD32 game, it´s AmigaCD and you will need a full WB setup on HD, 030er cpu and at least 16megs of ram to run it !

Thanks for the info.

Does that also mean that it can be loaded using AmigaSys3 which I have installed ?

Hi dlfsilver,

Is the file loaded in the floppy through Winuae ?

Could you please explain.

Thanks.

P.S. Hi Crown,

As soon as I can trace the site I will post it for you. I know I have it bookmarked but I have to go through my favourites folder.

I think I tried it in AmiSys and I think it worked. But I prefere ClassicWB, it works with that one aswell and it's that WB I use for playing this game (in WinUAE of course).

No, you can mount it like a CD32 game before or after the start of the emulation with AmigaSYS. Works like using a cd in windows. You will see the cd icon on the AmigaSYS desktop.

Hello again Crown,

The site where you can download the game is:

http://www.amigames.de/

There also more games available. There are 63 if I am not mistaken.

But the CD32 games are down since 2-3 days. I hope they will fix it. Btw: Simon the Sorcerer II has some problems. You need these update when you want to save your game.

There is no music playing in the Amiga emulation but it works in ScummVM.

Mount the "image" (iso, nrg...) with DaemonTools and then mount the CD in WinUAE and boot up ClassicWB with the CD mounted and play Simon 2.

Hi IronClaw

A couple of questions please.

1. Does it make a differnce if I mount the image using Alcohol 123 ?
2. How do you mount the cd using Winuae. I mean do you need a physical CD ? Do i have to burn the nrg file to a real cd ? If I am not confusing matters, Winuae can only mount adfs in the floppy drives.

Thanks for any ifo you can supply.

1. Donno, only used and will only use DaemonTools
2. When the Image has been mounted with DaemonTools, just goto "Hard drives" and press "Add Directory". Then give a Device name of CD0 (or whatever you prefere) and a volume label (like Simon).. then at path; navigate to your mounted CD (in my case k: )... Then just start the game from ClassicWB or something.
