Does anyone know how to use FRED (Frame Editor) which is included in ADPro ? Are there any tutorials ?

Fred was a solution for creating transitions, maybe there are creative uses that are still worth using Fred for? Seems cheap modern computers can provide video transitions much easier, but maybe I'm overlooking compositing or other roll-your-own possibilities Fred and ADPro could deliver.
