Hmm Ok. So with spinet.device in DEVS:networks can you browse there with Miami setup to choose the device? How does Miami show you the list of available devices?

When I'm in Miami and I select Ethernet it does not show me anything in the list. I just went to my A1200 and copied over my AriadneII driver to devs:networks just to see if it saw the directory and yes it shows up.
If I pick Ethernet or Other SanaII and select the driver is just sits there when I click continue. RC |

If you go to DEVS:networks in the CLI, and run list, what size is spinet.device showing? It should be 5500 (just downloaded and checked on my other A1200 here).

Great thanks for confirming that, I think the next thing we check is the SPI Ethernet module you are using.
Did it come bundled with your K1208? |

I have the 8Megs RAM with SD card with Ethernet if that's what you're asking.

I meant the little ethernet module that you have connected to the K1208. It's designed to work with 3V modules, so just wondered what module you had connected to yours.

Ah right, the issue will be down to that ethernet module as that is a 5V one. You can tell by the presence of the voltage regulator on the bottom. The K1208 is only providing 3V, so you might get LEDS lighting up but it won't actually function.
If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can remove the voltage regulator and feed the 3V straight through. |

Yup - just grabbed FREEMILK on IRC, we're both on the same page now (so will hopefully stop giving you the same advice twice every time )
The voltage regulator is wired as below: So you'd need to remove it, and bridge the middle and right pad. Shout if you need any more info. |

Yes, thats the one (although upside down from the image I posted). You need to remove that voltage regulator first. Its designed to step 5V down to the 3V3 the chip onboard actually needs. The issue is that your K1208 already provides 3V3, so it doesn't need to be stepped down. By removing it, and bridging the INPUT and OUTPUT, you are passing the 3V3 straight through which should get you going. Ideally, your ethernet module should have been a 3V3 one already - did it ship with your K1208? |

Hi looking at your picture solder a wire between the top 2 pads once chip removed. (or you may actually be able to just put a solder blob across it). The easiest way to remove that chip is to add solder to the big pin first, heat with solder and gently pry that side up, once that side done then do the same to the 3 pin side.
