RTG and chipset vblank rate

Im getting some annoyance with P96 and the uae betas. Not sure if it s a recent feature of winuae or Ati drivers, but every screen mode has a 50hz option now according to uae bootlog.

The issue is when using p96 workbench the screen or window is operating at 59 and [49] is shown too on status bar. This is messing up the timming making everything runs slower (noticable playing sounds/mods). No ammount of playing with vsync options and chipset refresh seems to sort it.

My crystall ball says it has nothing to do with betas.

Crystal ball also says it works as designed, just like on real Amigas. Chipset vblank timing is independant from RTG vblank timing. (It wasn't always this way in WinUAE but it was just a missing feature that got implemented long time ago)

EDIT: There are Picasso96 settings that can be used to change "hidden" chipset screen refresh rate (pal/ntsc/doublescan) but I don't remember how it was done..

Not that long ago. 2.3.3 beta1 is ok but beta2 and 3 have the issue.

I don't see anything different. You didn't say what exactly is different between versions (except different value but how different and which one?

)

Thats because im not really sure where the poblem lies or what im trying to explian

With RTG refresh set to chipset in beta1 the status bar shows FPS: 59 [59] and all is working fine with Picasso96 workbench open and playing mods ect..

In beta 2/3 the display is showing 49 [49] and progs open slower and sound playback is slow. if i set rtg refresh to Real, the display shows 59 [49] and is still slow. Ive even had it show 60 [30] somehow.

Ah, ok, I thought you meant the opposite (chipset refresh rate is wrong and RTG rate is the same).

Still can't duplicate it. Attach log from latest beta and last working version for comparison purposes.

Ok. attached is log files for beta 1 and beta 3. Same config file used for both no changes.
