How do I know what File System my HD has?
Simple noob question.
I want to know which filesystem a certain partition uses. I think there was a shell command to do this but I can't find it! I have installed SFS (supposedly) in my CF card, SFSformat worked ok, but I still wonder... |

hdtoolbox says "custom file system", that's all.
i know sfs is there otherwise sfsformat fails, but still, i kind of remember a command line ..err... command, that showed you volume information including filesystem. was i tripping? |

hdtoolbox shows always "custom file system", if someting is changed in the settings or not "default". It's still the SFS file format.

Yeah but except for an hex filetype (which is SFS [53465300] ), I can't really read it.
what if I am stupid? What if I can't read hex? ;P Nobody ever seen this command that shows up the filesystem? |

rx "say x2c(534653)" Or more reliable, in HDToolbox go to Add/Upate and check which file system has the same hex combination as the partition. Or run a program like check4gb |

Or do as Slayer said. It works as intended, nothing else needed.
