Scene Party Videos
Dudes
I've still got the party videos from these parties: Magnetic Fields "Revenge Party", Rotherham 1990 Digital "Main Event", Rotherham 1991 Anarchy "Winter Conference", Barnsley 1992 I've got a friend to do a VHS -> DVD conversion for me and I'll be converting them to DIVX. Is there anyone who might be interested in these? I can maybe put them up on Torrent if somebody tells me where. Cheers Last edited by MajicMushroom; 30 March 2016 at 20:29. |

I'd like to see it too. I didn't even know Scene Parties were held in Rotherham (where I live) and Barnsley back then....

I only have the Mag Fields one as DIVX at the moment. Not sure how to distribute it, is Bit Torrent the preferred method?

They'll be your standard 700 meg AVI's I should imagine. I know the first one is.
I don't mind upping to a newsgroup, but many people don't have access to decent news servers and often find incompletes. |

Hey! Where's my post gone?!?
ffs.. wife must have been looking at eBay again. All I was going to say is that I'm not a fan of Torrents either and to suggest uploading the file to something like FileFactory, a free file hosting site (up to 500MB), or YouSendIt (hosts up to 1GB but not sure if this one is free), but as the file is DVD format and bigger than the max 500MB/!GB it might be best to split the file, or compress it, then upload them, and tell us what the links are? Not an expert in file hosting sites so in all honesty I couldn't tell you if this the correct way to go about things.... |

700 Meg should be the most any of the files end up...
I'm not sure what good free hosts there are either, if anyone else wants to point any out then cool beans. There's always E-mule as well I guess.... |

Yeah i back that up yousendit is great fastish speeds and not too many adverts unlike certain others. would be faster than torrents but the only snag is if it gets hit lots!
@Maj a friend uploaded some rare games for me on various free host sites 1.4gb of data i found yousendit the least painfull when downloading them even if the speed wasn't the best i was still getting getting them quite fast (can't remeber speed now lol) then you have filefactory etc but that brings up shit like winfixer 2005 as we all know is nothing short of a virus! as well as other annoying adverts! I maybe suggest that a few of us get the files off you and then host to further eab members wadda ya think? if someone wants to make a torrent then great but i think it's a very specialesd intrest so won't get seeded well! I also think it would be a handy time to make that BEST of Majic AMIGA comp DVD with your majic packs and the other ones as well as the divx movies and do the same as Synchro did with his Amiga Tribute II DVD i have a copy and am sending out 3 tommorow at least! |

Post to a newsgroup, perhaps via your ISP. If using an ISP server, include good number of PAR2 files, say 20%min. That way, it will be propagated from server to server, so be available on giganews and newshosting within a day, and the PARs should overcome ISP's "completion" issues (unless you have a decent ISP such as Zen).
I'd be interested in the quality of the VHS-DVD... |

Yeah, I deffo want the Digital one. I spent the night in the playpark next to the leisure centre because of the wanky train times before it started.
I remember Final Fight was the 'big' release when Cosy brought it up, just about every Amiga had it running within half an hour! |

The quality isn't great to be honest but bear in mind that the 2 ones by Nightshift Productions (Mick Dagger et al) distributed them in a rather shitty state to begin with. I.E. The master was w*nk But they're still watchable.
I'll get something organised over the next few days. Any ideas what newsgroup to post to? Edited to say it's not a criticism of Mick Dagger and Eclipse... They did sterling work to get the videos done in the first place. Last edited by MajicMushroom; 22 June 2006 at 00:50. |

Weee-llll video is a semi-professional interest of mine. If you like, I could run them through the kit here and see if I can "improve" the final [copied] digital version. Can't promise any improvements without seeing the source, but can generally get the best from an old VHS tape. Drop me a PM if interested.
