Gotek in new 600
Hi -- just took possession of a highly upgraded Amiga 600. Has an Indivision, Furia and Gotek built in.
Works well although there was no USB stick so need to make my own. I tried copping the Gotek firmware to the stick with some adfs but no boot selector appears. I'm sure the Gotek is working fine as this is a well-loved system and the USB does flash when plugged in. I tried the HXC bits follow this guide: https://www.retro32.com/gaming/amiga...ds-flashfloppy Obviously it will be pre--flashed for the Amiga (being built in to the disk drive slot) but I have never owned one so am probably doing something wrong! Any help will be much appreciated. |

Does your Gotek have an LED or OLED display? When it is powered up without a USB stick, what does the display show?
We need to determine whether it is using FlashFloppy or HxC firmware. |

There are some lights on the side but as it is internal - can't see them. I'll open the case and have a look.

Didn't need to poen the 600 (but did anyway to see what it looked like inside and where it was CF or sd hard disk.
The gotek has an led display but the only thing it displays are 3 lines in the centre of each section: ie. the middle segments for each digit light up and stay lit. |

Okay - made some progress: Downloaded selector.adf from here:
https://cortexamigafloppydrive.wordpress.com/ Now get H-C on the display and it boots into the selector. Tells me my firmware is out of date and I am using third party software. I try and pput some adfs in slots but they don't seem to save and I can't seem to change the boot slot using the buttons. Disk shows up and can be opened in Workbench. What do I need to do now? |

It looks like you have the old Cortex software.
I would highly recommend flashing it with the latest FlashFloppy firmware. There are plenty of Youtube videos and blogs/articles on how to do this if you search on Google for it. |

No - the initial firmware flashing/programming cannot be done with just the USB memory stick.
See the firmware flashing/programming options at: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy...re-Programming Once you have FF on it, then future firmware updates can be done via the USB memory stick: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy...irmware-Update |

Read the instructions when it loads and realised I needed to press F7 to save and reboot and now everything is fine.
What will newer firmware do for me? Finding the floppy disk loading a bit slow after whdload... |
