Coverdisks from Amiga Format 109 in the Zone!
Seeing as there are no downloads of these on AMR i've uploaded the Coverdisks from Amiga Format Issue 109 April 1998 to The Zone. Obtained these in a bundle, still sealed in the clear packet, dumped with my Kryoflux and made ADF's.
Note that they can only be installed to Hard Drive and need Kickstart 2.04 or later to boot! |

Just gave it a quick try.
As often with those coverdisks just extract the lha/lzx to a folder on your miggy hdd. In this case you want to add the content of the lzx on disk 2 also for completeness. Blitzbombers is nicely programmed. Graphics, animations, splash screens, level select, backgrounds, loading animation and the menu(s) look quite professional and pleasing to the eye. Everything is quite responsive. When you start the game it looks a lot like bomberman but it's different in gameplay. No or very few cpu enemies (except cpu players, if chosen) to frag. There are tunnels and a quite nice selection of powerups waits under those removable blocks. In one player game you just want to reach the exit in time. In multiplayer game (which seems to be more interesting) you want to path your way, collect powerups and sooner or later the other player(s). Multiplayermode supports 2 players via the 2 joystick ports or 3 or 4 via 4player adapter. Player 4 can join via keyboard also. And very importantly you can add cpu players via keys 1-4. There's also serial link available. Just read the readme in which the authors state that the game wasn't published earlier/in retail because of legal issues. I like the gameplay of bomberman/dynablaster a little more, but this game has been crafted very nicely and is def worth a look. Edit: required: A1200 (1.6MB of chipram and a HDD) Last edited by Nightshft; 07 March 2020 at 04:34. |

@BarryB
Thanks for the upload.... However, I really don't care for the popups and redirects when clicking on the image hosted at IMGBB. |
