@mark_k: do you have a simple C code to do so, please? Since I dont run the complete startups-sequence, just a minimum one I came up with, it is a good solution for me.
@Damien_D: Your solution works but involved loading the dadatypes, etc... which is away from this experiment of mine |

Yeah maybe, but once you save it gets written to the "system-configuration" file. Then just copy this to your destination. This is why I wrote those instructions in post #14 and suggested making a copy of your Workbench disk. |

@DamienD: Well, it works as you say! But I have to load C:IPrefs so mouse is cleared on every boot. Good enough, I guess. Thanks a lot!

I used exactly the same procedure details in post #14 to get rid of the mouse pointer... there's defintley no "C:IPrefs" on disk or loaded in the "Startup-Sequence": Also, think about how many cracked disks there are floating about where the crackers changed the CLI colour / mouse pointer etc... also no "C:IPrefs" on disk. |

@DamienD: Ok, I want to believe you, really! No IPrefs would be way better...
So, what does load the devs:system-configuration if I dont use IPrefs? In other words: I dont see mouse pointer gone UNTIL I run IPrefs... So, there is something here that I ignore. But what is it? |

The "system-configuration" will just load if present. The cleared mouse pointer or any adjusted mouse pointer (as you see on numerous cracked disks) is just part of this I guess. Another example, when I've created bare-bones / selft booting .HDFs i.e. no Workbench OS / files, yet copy a custom "Devs/system-configuration" file across, it loads. |

IIRC IPrefs appeared in OS 2.0 and loads prefs from env:. In previous system versions all prefs were stored in "system-configuration".
However, 2.0+ still load that file upon startup, i think even before the startup-sequence. If you clear the mouse pointer with 2.0+ prefs program it will not work without iprefs. You have to use 1.x prefs program (or copy the file from another setup which does what you want). |

@DamienD & meynaf: Thanks a lot, guys! I learned a lot today!
YES, it works as DamienD said, no IPrefs needed AT ALL. No need. Now my system is perfect! What I was missing was the "use WB 1.3 to clear the mouse and get your devs:system-configuration" part... |

Changing Font Problem (3.1)
Setfont Personal 8
leads to this Error Message: Object is Not of required Type. It is the Font used by Personal Paint, IT IS in the Fonts folder of sys:. Setfont itself is in sys:c. I don't understand the problem... |

Gaula92,
Another suggestion, you might want to try this instead of clearing the mouse pointer completely: Quote:
The mouse disappears after 1 second of inactivity, if you move the mouse or click it will come back, but blank again after 1 second of inactivity I just think this could be useful for you in case you every do need the mouse |
