Is Kid Chaos the Best Jump & Run Game
Hi Folks, Time for another Poll
When people say, "platformer" , that can mean a lot of things ... So i made this Poll to see how much love Kid Chaos will get. In my humble opinion it´s the best Amiga JUMP & RUN Game. The Playability and Tech behind this game is second to None. Even if its HARD AS NAILS. Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris So, lets see how you Guy´s think about Kid Chaos |

Technically quit nice but i never liked it since it's more like a Sonic clone. BC Kid or Fire and Ice are better imo.

Ohh yeah, i LOVE BC Kid !!!!!
But its also a Clone. ( literally - from BONK on the PC-Engine/Turbo Grafx ) Fire & Ice is also great. Ohhh, and Arabian Nights !!! (reminds me always a little bit of WONDERBOY in M.W.) Jesus, Giana sisters..... ( i love you baby ) Yes, Kid Chaos was inspirated by sonic. ( andrew himself said that ) But, i love the old sonic games Kid is done so well. The playability and the Tech is so great. That this game runs with 50FPS on an A-500 is just Incredible. No slowdowns and the paralax layers in the first world is unmatched in my eyes. Shaun & Andrew Nailed it. Imho |

I think destroying flowers should not be requirement to finish levels as it got boring when you need to back few screens. Global Gladiators have similar problem with tiny items to collect. Release of Kid Chaos CD32 was excellent idea because of long loading times from floppy disks.

Had to vote 'no'. I do love Kid Chaos, but, for me, Superfrog just seems a little more special

Poor Kid
He dosen´t get much love here But i play so well I can understand, its a very tuff question, because there are more great Jump&Run Games on the Amiga Giana Sisters > our Mario Kid Chaos > our Sonic BC Kid > Bonk ( the real deal ) so, its tuff .... sorry kid |

I`m on the fence about the game, I mean it's technically fantastic, the graphics overall are very well defined, the soundtrack is pretty cool. I always tried to like it, and I do, just not enough to put serious time into. Perhaps it's because it came out late in the Amiga cycle, and by that time there were many other platformers to choose from..

To me (and I didn't play it until years later) it was a bit too difficult to really be the best. On the technical side I think Brian the Lion was the best, though that also had gameplay issues. Platform games were never my favourite, things like Superfrog and Fire & Ice never excited me, the only ones I really loved on the Amiga were Rainbow Islands, Rodland and Robocod. I did quite like Zool 2 though, oddly.

Ouch I thought this would be tuff for the Kid but the Poll Result speaks Volumes
But, i think you Guy´s are right Great Games where mentioned above Still, i think if you exclude Ports, The Kid is still strong. I honestly thought he would get more love... but i can see; the question " THE BEST" was too much for the Kid Cheers PS: I hope Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris never reads this; They worked there butts off ohh and... = Best Quote i have seen in a long time on Forums i giggled so hard, Thanks Bean, youre one kind of a Bag BIG GREETINGS Last edited by Nibbler; 14 February 2016 at 15:59. It's a good looking game, technically impressive, but with awful gameplay mechanics.
Saying this is like Sonic means you either have really thick rose-tinted glasses or never actually played Sonic extensively. The only game in Amiga that kind of approaches a sonic-esque general feel is Mr. Nutz. Mr. Beanbag comes second (only because the aesthetics are very different! ). |

Gameplay ( the control of the Character and the things you can do with it ) is pretty much top spot, imho

Kid Chaos sure is a game i would not normally pull out of the shelf to have an epic game evening, but it is okay. I've got the CD32 version which is okay but the game is no match against even Dojo Dan, which has far better music and the entire setting (gfx) is just not appealing to me. kinda dark and not fun to watch. Technically impressive, nonetheless.

I argee they pulled it of nice and a cheat to just run through the levels without destroying flowers would be good - some of the levels are just not fun and to hard.
