Winuae languages
I was wondering if anyone produced localised versions of Winuae. I know English is the default, but would others like a Winuae in their own language.
I think its possible to create local copies using the Winuae_Default.dll file and something like ResEdit to modify it for different languages. How easy is it to keep it up to date for new versions? |

AFAIK, French, German and Hungarian versions, in addition to Polish, are regularly updated.
French versions of WinUAE are usually announced and links provided on EmuNova: http://www.emunova.net/news/ There are even French versions of the beta releases! http://www.tradu-france.com/ I'm no longer sure where to find the German and Hungarian versions, sorry. You are correct; the non-English language versions are produced by editing the translation.dll available from winuae.net with each new version. Last edited by prowler; 24 August 2012 at 23:21. |

Some day back I started to translate WinUAE to brazillian portuguese, but I reached one problem of some phrases being too much larger than the originals. And its very boring, there are tenths of phrases and all are too much specific to the context they are used in the GUI.
The look of the WinUAE GUI is very modern, and with some specific translations and maybe some little tweaks to it, like removing that bevel flag around the window and a nice check mark logo in the about dialog (Hey Toni, hint!), it would look much better. |

The same problems are with the Polish translation. The solution is to modify the GUI to fit the translation.
