Hi,

I assume you mean the Horizontal, Vertical and Composite sync of the RGB port?

They are all TTL level. Full details here:

Ok, hardware gurus, what would be the easiest way to get a 2v peak to peak composite sync signal from the 1200?

Would hooking up a lm1881 to the composite out work for the 15k modes?
Ideally I would be able to take pin 10 and convert it directly so I could get
31.5k modes also. I'm trying to connect a gbs-8200 external scan doubler and the ttl sync doesn't seem to agree with it.

i have same problem with similar converter (GBS-8220)..
i have try "before months" this my way,via component (Ypbpr) very stable signa also on hi res l!,but missed the real yellow color..
(if remember good)..this is my "crazy" diagram...
Direct from 23 port:
Amiga red to PR via 330 ohm resistor
Amiga blue to Pb via 330 ohm resistor
Amiga green to Y via 33ohm ~100 ohm resistor
Amiga C sync to Y via caps (no remember size..)
------------------------------------
i have stop to try for months.. maybe i start again my project..

I still swear by mine..

I got it for my 17th birthday.
I'm 39 now and I still use this nearly every day.
Gotta love that kind of quality.

@Anemos: nice PSU replacement! I have exactly the same one taken from an old Compaq Presario (K6 & Ciryx M3 era!).

I hacked it inside a near dead A1200 heavy duty ( 65W is heavy duty???) white brick, including fan and extra Molex connectors to the outside.

86W of pure Amiga action! Yay! 12A on +5V, 2A on 12V rails. More than enough.

GBS-8220 CONVERTER

Hello,we know this strange converter is difficult to synchronize with Atari - Amiga via standard RBGS & RGBHV plug input ..
Here is my new solution via YUV input to VGA,screen is stable,no flicker, auto synchronize with PAL/NTSC,..
but losing a little colors like 20% of green, yellow, white,(not so bad).

Screen looks like this

here diagram for Atari-ST

@anemos

great work my friend

Have you tried this on a CRT? I believe that you will find that you will get a better picture with a CRT as opposed to an LCD monitor in this regard

Ok, did it, stable pic, but yeah the colors are butt ugly. Deluxe Galaga is really hard to play when you can't tell what colors some things are.

One of these kits would help from Jaycar:

http://www.jaycar.co.uk/productView....b&form=KEYWORD
It converts RGB to YPrPB (YUV) suitable for the video adaptors discussed previously.

Have not looked for ready built RGB to YUV converters but there must be some on the market.

Unsure of how the GBS-8220 will handle the sync signals. If you can feed in TTL level H and V Syncs from the Amiga rather than use a sync on green hack this should work best. Without measuring video levels it is hard to know what is best.

HTH

The GBS-8220 still "wayward" ..my first contact on him..nothing pic excepting display menu..
2 pins of central video IC controller ,took re-solder!
Some info from web saying..this converter working fine on JAMMA arcade boards.
