uaescsi.device problem
I wish to access Amiga cdroms under WinUAE. I know how to install my CDFS and change the driver etc..however my problem is this...
I'm using WinUAE 15.2. I've already installed OS3.1, but am now unable to activate the uaescsi.device under 'misc/advanced'. The check box appears to be ghosted so I can't check it! Therefore unable to access cdroms. Any help much appreciated |

1) Check it before starting emulation
2) Make sure selected backend is available. (SPTI generally, ASPI if for some reason you don't want to use SPTI but make sure ASPI driver is installed) |

Hi All,
Hmmmmm....I can access my PC CD drive in WinUAE and I did not install any Amiga CD filesystem or mount anything in DEVS (I even installed an Amiga program from the CD drive without any problems). Does the latest version of WINUAE not require the mounting of Amiga CD1? Regards, ed.. |

WinUAE can mount directly now but it isn't emulating real CD drive, it is basically read-only harddrive. Other possible problems are: 8.3 file names if CD does not contain Windows-compatible long file names. Audio tracks won't work.

Hi Toni,
Ahhhh....that explains it then. I will proceed with installing cacheCDFS then so as to get full functionality as you indicated. Thanks and regards.....ed |

I tried ticking uaescsci.device option before starting emulation, but my saved configuration appears to overwrite it Is there any way I can edit my configuration/logfile and enable the uaescsi.device option?
I installed NewIcons V4 before I installed OS3.9. Now I get this nasty nag requester everytime I boot the emulation. How can I fix it? |

O.K. I've managed to solve the second problem regarding NewIcons.
But, I still can't activate the damn uaescsi.device option from within WinUAE (option is ghosted out!) so I'm still having problems reading Amiga cdroms from the Amiga side. I installed OS3.1, then OS3.9 from the CD. Now for my problem... When I try to install Boing Bag1 (or Boing Bag 2) it asks for the OS3.9 cd. This is already in the F: drive, but the installer can't "see" the OS3.9 cd? Therefore, I am unable to install BB1 or BB2. Is there any other way I can install these updates? |

? Load your configuration, enable uaescsi, save your configuration, start emulation?
