HDD Boot problems with A1200 and A1230-IV accelerator

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me.

Kit: Standard Amiga 1200, 4GB 2.5" IDE HDD, Blizzard 1230-IV Turbo Board with 32MB RAM, Standard 23W A1200 Power Supply, OS 3.1 Kick Roms.

Situation (seems to be a common one on the web):

With A1230 board disconnected: HDD spins up and boots fine
With A1230 board connected: HDD spins up but doesn't boot, straight to purple floppy screen much faster than without the A1230. Also, a warm boot doesn't help (even with the HDD Spinning).

Any thoughts? Originally I thought, reading forums, that it was a power issue with the 23W power supply, but then why would it not warm boot from the HDD? I even tried replacing the kick roms with 3.1 as one forum suggested to no avail. If I get a CF drive instead of the hard drive, would this just fail to boot also?

Any help would be great, otherwise I give up... Cheers

Clean the contacts of slot,s ,
try to test other ram stick.

Does it start to boot if you do a reset CNRL-A-A ?

it seems that your hardisk is slow at boot...some hardisks boot very slow
then the amiga boot but the hardisk is not ready
so
your hardisk boot fine without the turboboard but will not boot with it
It's because the turboboard make the A1200 boot 1 or 2 seconds faster....got it?
the solution here is replace your hardisk by a new one
