Display date and time in menu bar

I have Classic WB 3.1 installed. When I first installed it, the time and date displayed in the top right corner on the top menu bar. But a while back my CF became corrupt (now using a real HD) and I had to reinstall. But now there is no date/time in the menu bar, just the memory status. Any idea how I turn this back on?

Also, I have a question about icons as I don't fully understand them. Some of the folders on my "System" disk are on the desktop (I believe this is how Classic WB lays them out.) I only use a couple of these folders so would like to put the rest back in the System folder. How do I do that? Basically I don't understand how folders can be in System according to DOpus, but not appear in the folder in Workbench and be on the desktop instead.

Also, there are a few folders I created on my PC that don't have icon files, so I can't seem them. Other than create a new folder in DOpus which also creates the icon file, is there a way to generate an icon file for an existing folder?

Many thanks!

not 100% sure, but i try
if you select such icon on workbench and then use "menu -> icon -> put away"
they should pop back into the system drawer.
once you want a icon back to workbench you can use "menu -> icon -> leave out"
this works also with other sources, not only system partition.
these are some kind of (soft)links so dopus might not list them as expected.

edit: looking at the pictures by fitzsteve - the above is for standard workbench menus - but i could imagine, scalos menus got similiar feature

there is a def-icon facility - but i'm not sure how it really works or gets started.
some tools on aminet could do the job too:
updateicons
DefIcons ( not sure, this is the def-icons-facility )
but i read "files" not folder in those descriptions.

What version of CWB do you use, is it 'Full'? With Scalos?

You can open the Scalos Prefs and edit what is displayed on the Title Bar:

But maybe as a consequence of your A4000's Battery leakage perhaps the clock circuit isn't working?

That's something I'm not sure about either, all my Amiga have clock circuits so I can't really test that here.

Although I think the time does show up on a standard A1200 without any expansion.

Thanks for the replies. The clock is definitely working, there's a new battery and it is keeping time/date in preferences.

I can't remember which version of CWB I installed, but knowing me (hating bloat) I probably did go for the lite version I don't remember seeing Scalos anywhere.

Thanks, very useful. So they are kind of like shortcuts, but also move the actual folder if you view them in Workbench. I always wondered what "put away" meant
