Amiga NDK
Hi,
I am trying to get into C and Assembly programming on the Amiga. I have the NDKs off the Amiga developer CD, but I'm not quite sure how I use them. Any thoughts? |

Copy the include files and linker libs into the appropiate directories of your compiler (read the compiler's manual first) and then read the docs.
If you use StromC from the Dev CD, you don't need to do anything, it has the required files included already. |

What kind of support do you need to get started that language? Do you know (basics of) the language? Do you have the tool to assemble and link? Documentation/tutorials/hardware manuals? Here you will find a wealth of hints, tools and knowledge to get you started. |

EDIT just found DevPac with 3.x includes! http://eab.whdownload.com/index.php?dir=%2FApp/Disk It's about a quarter of the way down the page. I also got the Amiga Developer disk from http://www.vesalia.de/e_developer2.htm I had a look on Amazon.co.uk for you and found the "Mastering Amiga C" book, that I bought for £7.49, not bad for something so rare. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mastering-Am...135172&sr=1-13 There are also some Amiga Rom Kernel Manuals, but they're very expensive, and you can get them from: http://amiga-manuals.npage.de/index.html in PDF format. There's plenty of good stuff on that site. I have my own site for Amiga books that I'm turning into AmigaGuide format, http://amiga.maxiwebs.co.uk There's a few AmigaGuide OS3.9 manuals and all the OS3.9 manuals in PDF. I'm still working on the rest of the AmigaGuide ones. There's an AREXX manual on my site if you fancy having a go at that, too. All I need now is people to email me manuals they want turning into AmigaGuide for my website. Hope this helps. |

Just one more link, if I may: http://www.bombjack.org/commodore/amiga-books.htm This one and the already mentioned npage.de are the public libraries for every Amiga fan. The job they're doing is well beyond the support one can give them. Also good luck with your own AmigaGuide conversion project, might turn to be really helpful! And have fun. |
