how to extend cable for serial mouse/joystick
The serial cables on my mouse and joystick are too short. Thought maybe my serial cable would work but one of the ends needed to be male. Anyone know where i can get cable extension for an amiga mouse or joystick?

A normal modem cable should have one male and one female end, and be wired straight through, which is what you want. if both are female then it's probably a null modem cable, and unsuitable for your purposes.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812123083 would do the job, but 10ft might be a bit long. I made my own using some 9 core cable and the appropriate db9 connectors |

And just to nitpick, these are not serial ports.
It is unfortunate that the Atari joystick port (around since 1978?) has the same connector as the reduced pin count serial port, that was introduced by the IBM world some time in the later side of the 1980s. |
