CD32 Power Supply Query
Hello
on ebay i saw a CD32 for sale with an A1200 power supply. will that actually work ok? Thanks. |

If it's just a normal A1200 PSU then no, it won't work - they are different. A1200/A600/A500 all have a square PSU connector - CD32 has a round one...
You may be able to get it to work by DIY, but it won't work as it is. |

The CD32 powerconnector is a typical 4-pin round DIN-connector which carries +5 +12 and GND-signal, with one pin left unconnected..
Interestingly, Commodore 64's 1541-II/1571/1581 diskdrives use the exact same connector and pinout so it's possible to use either the diskdrive or CD32 with the same PSU You can even hack a PC ATX-powersupply to power those drives and the CD32 at the same time (the schematics and directions can be found in the net, just use google) Helped me alot clearing out 4+ PSU'S under the table.. |
