CoolNESs Keyfile

Hey Yo!

Considering that this emulator hasn't been worked on for about 7 years, i was wondering whether someone could give me their keyfile via email or something - as i can't seem to access "The Zone"! Many thanks in advanced.

Regards,

Galahad: do you use ARC to crack ADOS stuff, or did you use ReSource?

Action Replay. Dos stuff is no different a crack than non-dos.

Man I had trouble using the Action Replay in Dos stuff as when ever I do a break it always at a ROM function instead of in the main programm unlike non AmigaDos Stuff.

Coolness was an easy crack because the keyfile routine to check was a load of old rubbish.

Could you write a quick basic outline on ARC and AmigaDOS tools please.

Not in too much detail, just commands, what should happen here and there.
I should be able to understand it.

I thought your crack of CoolNess, would of just bypassed the _LVOOpenWindow call at the start of the prog.

Nope, I attacked the keyfile checking routine, and made sure it passed back what it was looking for.

That seems right. You must be good if you can get the PDX-ARC to break at the program loop instead of ROM calls under AmigaDOS.

Whenever I try to monitor a tool like a dialer it always keeps pointing to ROM calls.

You have to set breakpoints at relevant points in the program, or as you have found out, it will always be pointing to ROM calls.

@CU_Amiga
Not sure anyone has upped your request. A crack of the last release(?) of CoolNESs (V0.77) is in the Zone. As Ironclaw said, check the FAQ on how to access the Zone. Enjoy!

Working great with earlier classic NES Games, like;

Popeye, DK1, Donkey Kong Jr, DK3, Mario Bros, Dig Dug, Ice Climber, Ballon Fight, Tetris, Wrecking Crew.

Stuff like that.

But does anybody know how to quit it. ? (besides a reset)

ESC only resets the game....hmmmm
