I feel bad for having had the collection for AGES and not installing it until today. It's fricking awesome!

My one comment/suggestion would be that on my (I think fairly typical PC) 1080P screen the video default distorts the shape. I have to switch from Host Display 800x600 to Native (I think a better choice as its always right?) and then adjust the Null filter to 2x and then I have Amiga aspect ratio without any blurring

Regarding "distorts the shape"; did you read these on the 2nd post?

What to do if games are stretched / not the correct aspect ratio when in Fullscreen mode:

...but if you want to change display settings for everything, which I wouldn't recommend, then do this:

Methanoid; just to demonstrate what I mean in terms of the differences between running in "Fullscreen 640x480" vs "Fullscreen 720x576"; whilst keeping the correct aspect ratio:

Super Cars @ 640x480:

Super Cars @ 720x576:

or

Shadow of the Beast @ 640x480:

Shadow of the Beast @ 720x576:

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Games in my collection that are set @ Fullscreen 640x480 would have an Amiga gameplay area of 320x200...

Games in my collection that are set @ Fullscreen 720x576 would have an Amiga gameplay area of 320x256...

For example, Banshee is set @ Fullscreen 720x576; the gameplay area is cut off @ Fullscreen 640x480.

Banshee @ 640x480:

Banshee @ 720x576:

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Finally, the reason why I choose not to set "Native" and then use a "multiplier" is this.

On your 1920x1080 display, setting a 2x multiplier is good.

On my laptop that has a maximum 1366x768 display, setting a 2x multiplier is too much... I need to set a multiplier of say 1.3x.

How can I accommodate for every different person's "Native" display / resolution settings?

Furthermore, so a multiplier of 1.3x on my laptop is good for games that have an Amiga gameplay area of 320x256; but if I set the same for games that have an Amiga gameplay area of 320x200 then they are too small; like in my "Super Cars @ 720x576" or "Shadow of the Beast @ 720x576" examples.

The method that I chose means that no matter what resolution your computer / monitor is capable of; the gameplay area will always be the same, and maximised for either an Amiga gameplay area of 320x200 or 320x256; depending on whether Fullscreen 640x480 or Fullscreen 720x576 is set

...people just need to turn off fullscreen scaling / stretching on their graphics card, or they'll get "distorts the shape / blurring" like you did

Phew, that was a long post!!! I hope all this makes sense plus explains it adequately; and why I made these display / resolution decisions that I did?

Trust me, there is method to my madness

LOL, I will try it... https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh-032 is where AMD tell you how to make a custom resolution but its out of date for current drivers but the options are located elsewhere

But pretty much whatever I enter is says "not compatible with your display". Thanks AMD for such unfriendly driver software

My laptop was purchased December 2011; and has the following specs: Acer Aspire 5951G / i5-2410M

I have to use the inbuilt "Intel® HD Graphic 3000" to create the custom resolution of 720x576, and not the "NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M" for some reason:

There's got to be a way to add this custom resolution on your much newer computer...

What AMD Radeon card do you have? Can you PM me screenhots of each step you're doing and what options you've set; maybe I can help?

The more important thing though; is turning of fullscreen scaling / stretching on your graphics card; did you manage to achieve that at least?

I mean; failing the above in regards to setting a custom resolution of 720x576... I do have a workaround.

Using Notepad++; you can change any configs that have 720x576 --> 800x600.

Your graphics card will definitely support this without having to add anything

Only thing is; when I've used horizontal or vertical centering, these values are then different i.e. on a 720x576 display, setting a horizontal centering of -250 is good.

On a 800x600 display, setting a horizontal centering of -800 is needed to achieve the same thing.

We are not talking about changing all games to 800x600; just the ones that are 720x576.

Definitely not changing games that are 640x480... like in your example above.

Anyway, this is a last resort if Methanoid can not resolve.

Did you get this sorted Methanoid?

If not then I can give you an archive to try of new configs where I changed anything 720x576 --> 800x600.

This is the difference...

720x576:

800x600:

Wizard's World was a long lost forgotten game that I recall playing back in the early 90's thanks for adding it..

Upon testing the game it seems the game glitches with the character when you keep jumping. See attached AVI.

It seems to me that using a Quickstart A1200 instead of A500 fixes the issue all together.
