Games ScummVM Supports on Amiga

Hi Folks.

I wonder if there is a definitive list of Games that ScummVM supports for the Amiga.

I see a list on the ScummVM website, and there's a long list, i tried a few, some worked, some didn't.

I see the list of supported games is meant to be in the about menu of ScummVM, but its basically written in code to me, saying things like lucasarts v.6 -.7 or something like that.

I wonder if there's a complete list so i don't need to try each game one after another.

Thanks.

I think it also depends on what port of scummvm you use, is several versions out there, doesnt make it easier .. But is several threads here about it, a list/guide would be perfect though ..

Sorry to highjack the thread with my own question but I was trying to get scummvm to run monkey island 3 but it won't see the game files on the hdd. I extracted the iso of the game, is that the problem?

If that's Curse of Monkey Island, yeah i don't think it works (The clue i think is that it is a Windows game, not DOS and ScummVM Amiga will better run CD DOS not CD Windows games, only an educated guess) ... in some way, its not hijacking, its exactly what i'm trying to find out without manually installing every game and then seeing it if works.

So far all i got is
Day of the Tentacle
Discworld 1
Discworld 2
Sam and Max Hit the Road

I haven't tried playing these as such, but they are "found" as games ScummVM can run.

Anybody know of more? Maybe this thread can be that list?

This is under ScummVM 1.5.0 and NOT 1.8.1

"The Curse of Monkey Island" works, see NovaCoder's video here:

I tried The dig and Curse of Monkey Island, i was using 1.5.0, maybe i'll try 1.8.1 that's on Aminet (not sure why i "started" on 1.5.0.
Hmm, v1.8.1 is RTG only.... you are very light on details. I thought the v1.5.0 was novacoders version, and when you add game and select curse monkey island or the dig, you get a box saying not a scumm game.

Are you using a customised version of the scummvm software? Or maybe the game itself?

Can't check at the moment, but I think I'm using these versions of NovaCoder's ScummVM Amiga port via WinUAE:

... Day of the Tentacle (ScummVM_V1.5.0.004_AGA_040.lha)
... Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos (ScummVM_V1.4.1.001_AGA_040.lha)
... The Dig (ScummVM_V1.5.0.004_AGA_040.lha)

You do realise that when copying game files over there are specific ones you need and you don't just copy everything... See here for more details

I don't think its compatible with the Amiga version of the ScummVM, as i click v1.5.0 from aminet and install one of the games (like i previously tried the Dig, and it says that game doesn't isn't compatible.

Unless the games themselves are not the right "versions" of those games.

That's going to be the problem

I promise you I can play all the games I've listed using files from the CD versions.

It's easy to find full images of all these via Google. Let me know if you get stuck though.

It supports lots of games, even SGI games if your machine is fast enough, so I think it's more than 100 games.
The supported game list was in the readme last time I checked. (long ago)
Also in the about box in the launcher if I recall correctly..

For the vampire there is a modified RTG version that doesn't require an FPU.

Edit: RTG versions support more games than AGA version IIRC.

yeah covered that in the original post, saying it support v.6-.7 isn't really helpful since i don't know what version each game was programmed in...

To help some others..... it seems you guys are running an older version that appears to give better compatibility... my v1.5.0 doesn't recognise the games, whereas 1.4.1 does.... i'm still using my own files, but different ScummVM version, suddenly it works....

I compiled ScummVM 1.9.0 for 68k a while ago but it was crashing like hell because of SDL2 use.

For my ports of ScummVM on AmiNet (up to version 1.5) I tried to limit the supported games (and ScummVM features) to what would actually be usable on the platform. There was no point supporting music emulation, compressed music playback or allowing Monkey Island 3 to run in 640x480 on an A500 with an 030 accelerator card

So my RTG version supports the most games and has the most features (which include SVGA games like Monkey Island 3 and Broken Sword and has support for OGG Vorbis playback), the AGA 060 port supports less games and features, the 040 and 030 each support less right down to the 030 OCS/ECS version which only supports a few Lucas Arts games and has no music support at all.

Not sure about ScummVM 1.8 as that was based on some of my code but not done by me.
