Leeds United problem in WinUAE with PAL and 512k chip + 512k slow!

Obtained this from a US seller and thought it was an NTSC version as it loads fine in WinUAE using NTSC and any config with 512k chip + 512k slow! But, untick NTSC and the game refuses to load in PAL unless a config with 1mb CHIP is used?

In PAL it throws up an error: 'Runtime error 68 in module SCREEN' and an 'Abort program' button. Strangley, if you click the button and type LEEDS at the prompt, it loads fine with 512k chip + 512k slow! The S-S has some echo commands and only has 1 program in it: LU-LOAD but there are 2 programs on the disk LU and LEEDS at about 200kb each, LU throws up the error with 512k chip+slow while LEEDS loads OK.

The TOSEC release and the 1 disk hack from Ministry do the same in PAL too, what's going on?

ADF's in the Zone!
