Floppy disk BestWB 1.1

BestWB Update from v1.0 to v1.1 (AmigaOS 3.1.4 based)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Please make a complete system backup before updating!

Requirements:

A clean installation of AmigaOS 3.1.4 + BestWB v1.0
About 2 MB of free harddisk space.

Changes in this v1.1 update
-------------------------------

New Features:

.IconSet prefs lets you switch between Standard icons and GlowIcons.
.WindowTiler commodity lets you reorganize windows more effectively.

Updates:

.MMULib 46.12 -> 46.17
.Compactflash.device 1.32 -> 1.33
.DTView2 1.1a -> 1.4
.IconLib 46.4.500 -> 46.4.513
.ToolsMenu 1.5 -> 1.8.1

Bugfixes:

.CronPrefs now gets started when CronTask is active.
.ABackupPrefs has been renamed and is now accesible from Tools/ABackup.
.MagicMenuPrefs now is able to start when MagicMenu is active.
.Gtlayout.library V47.2 was buggy, downgraded to a previous version.
.Updated CF0: mountlist to work with CrossDOS.
.Fixed MMULib installation.

My notes and a few things I forgot to mention:

*If a 68020 or better is found, MagicMenu will be updated to latest
version (v2.35) which is only 020+

*The new commodity "WindowTiler" is particularly handy for those of
you that use the new v45 intuition.library, as it allows you to
reorganize windows. Try it. Its documentation as usual resides in HELP:

*The new Prefs program IconSet will work with the hidden built-in
3.1.4 glowicons. It will ask only one time for the original
Storage3.1.4 floppy disk to achieve this.

*BestWB has been tested to be compatible with the soon to be released
AmigaOS 3.1.4.1 Update fix.

I hope you enjoy the release

Yes, the 3.1.4.1 update will be free. It is only a minor bug fix to 3.1.4.

Thank you for the update, gulliver. One minor problem, I still can't get CF0: to play nice with CrossDOSFileSystem. Info reports all my FAT16/32 cards as "Not a DOS Disk".

No worries, FAT95 3.18 and CF0: from cfd 1.33 always works a treat.

I would love to be wrong about this, but... the MBR on your card is too "modern", you need to set up the card with a partitioning tool that can do "pre MSDOS4" style MBR. Or drop partitioning all-together.

Yeah-nah, I won't be reformatting all my CompactFlash cards anytime soon. Think I'll stick fat with FAT95, thanks!

Minor fixes. Nothing really groundbreaking.
We are currently testing and working on some catalogs.

Anyway, I think I forgot to mention or clarify/fix this adequately:

When using CrossDOS with a partition table, the name of the mountlist (in this case "CF0") must have the last letter pointing to the FAT drive letter (CF0C if you use a C: drive in FAT, or CF0D for D: drive, etc.).

I will probably rename CF0 to CF0C in the next update to BestWB.

Thank you for your reply, gulliver. I'd already tried such renaming but unfortunately, it didn't make any difference. When mounted, no card icon appears on Workbench and Info still says "Not a DOS disk".

Will 3.1.4.1 be a new ROM release or purely disk?

Just be patient, we want to fix every bug we found for 3.1.4.1.

I am happy you enjoy BestWB.

The guys at Amiga Wave are great.

Thanks, I was thinking "typical" for a second as I just bought and planned on fitting the ROMs today.
