ACA500Plus + X-Surf-500 (how do I)

I have recently got my new ACA500Plus and X-Surf-500 setup on my desk. Workbench 3.1 is booting up and connects to my network switch, I can see the IP assigned on my network

I can use the iComp tool to connect to IndividualComputers servers and browse the latest drivers for their hardware so I know the system is "online" all be it very narrow in focus.

Can someone help me please on what I need to do next to get my Amiga online and fetching content? I'd like to:

- connect to BBS
- telnet / ssh (if possible, I have an 020 installed)
- FTP / download lha files
- email
- IRC

I'm not interested in browsing the web. AmiTCP is installed. I've had a stab at Ncomm 3.0 but not managed to connect to a BBS yet.

I think this might help you. You will find the majority of them at Aminet.

- browse Amiga friendly sites using - iBrowse, AWeb web browsers
- use IRC - AmIRC, WookieChat, BlackIRC
- transfer files (games, adf files, demos etc.) using FTP clients - AmiFTP, AmiTradeCenter, mFTP, AmFTP
- transfer files using SMBFS
- use Telnet to connect to BBS (DcTelnet, AmTelnet)
- play games online - dynaMITE (fast paced Dynablaser clone), HBMonopoly, Doom etc.
- you can even use Twitter client
- you can start your own FTP server - RcFTPd
- you can use SSH1
- DizzyTorrent

Thank you for your replies.

So it seems I’m close and need to spend a little time transferring some choice client applications over to my A500 and start having some fun. HttpResume and AmiFTP sound as if they could be enablers to open up a world of fun.
