WinUAE running BBS and Standby/Hibernate

Does WinUAE prevent Standby or Hibernate?

I'm asking as I want to build a box that runs various apps inc WinUAE running a BBS, uTorrent, SABnzbd etc.

uTorrent has a toggle to prevent standby when downloading or not (personally since I am seeding mainly I don't care if the machine goes into standby).

SABnzbd talks to Windows and prevents standby when its got a queue of downloads (which is fine and what I would want)

WinUAE? I'd like the machine to go into standby only if no-one was using the BBS ie logged on.

That's the problem... how would we know if someone was logged on?

There is a "disable screensaver" option on the misc page. I suppose it also affects power saving features.

Mind you, it wouldn't help with your "no one logged in" thing!

I think the bigger problem is how to wake the system up when someone logs on? Maybe just set the HD and monitor sleep times so the apps can still respond. And, if you have a processor that does scaling it will lower power consumption when idle.

No, that could be easy enough. Set the web page where you have Flashterm stored to also include sending a WOL packet.

My issue would be the machine sleeping when the BBS is inactive and not going to sleep when someone is online Methinks I need some help from Toni on that!

Emulator can't reliably detect when someone is online. (perhaps possible in bsdsocket emulation level but really not worth the trouble)

This requires for example some Amiga-side utility that polls BBS state and changes host's power management settings.
