Trauma Zero 1.1 CD Audio tracks
Now that SCSI-emu has been implemented in WUAE 2.3.x (thank you Toni! )... why I can't hear audio tracks for Trauma 0 (v.1.1) from CD in the game?
All prefs are set correctly (uaescsi.device 0, just like the default OS3.9 CD Player that can play perfectly audio tracks from WB...). |

I can't make it run too, in fact it runs the cdda when you launch the game, but it shouldn't do it...
And it launch the correct cdda at the menu screen, but in game no cdda music... And if you reboot winuae, no more cdda when you launch the game and no more cdda at the menu and still have no cdda in game. tried with winuae 2.3 and with the last beta (2). and for me too the sound is played in the wb cd player. |

ok i found how to make it run :
open the cd from the wb double click on T0Setup config uaescsi.device unit 0 save preferences now launch t0 but from the cd not from an install and it works and don't forget to set uaescsi.device in winuae. Last edited by turrican3; 25 October 2010 at 08:42. |

and if you can find a iso editor, you can change t0.prefs from the cd by one which contain the good config : uaescsi.device and unit 0
Like this , no need to setup the cdrom everytime |

As a I said I already set uaescsi.device 0, and the OS3.9 CD-Player works fine, but T0 won't play audio tracks
Have to test the "run from CD" thing though... EDIT: still nothing Last edited by hexaae; 25 October 2010 at 13:35. |

very strange,
you did well the setup from cd ? what's the size of the iso ? Sorry if it seems stupid questions but it's difficult to know why it works for me and not for you. |

What settings do you have for CD emulation?
Here is mine: I don't load any CD0: mountlist from WB.... Can you upload your T0 exe? There is no audio track for me with T0 1.0 or 1.1 (official patch to solve some CD audio detection bugs). Consider I use a Laptop, so only digital audio connections are plugged in... and that's why I use the new SCSI-emu in WUAE! Last edited by hexaae; 25 October 2010 at 17:54. |

my t0 exe is the original one from the cd, i don't even update it.
You use the original cd ? not an iso ? If yes, you should make an iso of your cd and select image file from winuae. I said that because i didn't try with the real cdrom without a cable connection between cdrom and motherboard and like i'm sure it works with the image file system from winuae (thank you Toni) that's why if you use a real cd try with an image and don't forget to run it from the cd don't even loose your time to install it, just setup from the cd (iso) and run it. Yes, maybe the ISO image trick does work, but I wanted to launch it from WB, as I did on the real Amiga A1200...
What's strange is that as CD Audio I can play the music tracks with PlayCD (default tool in OS3.9) and this confirms how good is the new SCSI-emulation (I have a laptop with only digital-audio cables connected) but they won't start from within the game as I supposed to.... With previous WUAE version, without SCSI-emu but only SPTI, I couldn't play audio CD or to be exact I couldn't hear audio (missing analog cable connection, as for all laptops) even if CD was spinning... Am I wrong to pretend I can hear audio now within games that use uaescsi.device 0 to pilot audio CD tracks? Last edited by hexaae; 25 October 2010 at 19:57. |

You could have an unsupported drive ? maybe the game doesnt send compatable commands.
I tested ages ago that uae does support fully the audio tracks of this game using an iso image and actual cd. If i read your previous post correctly, your not mounting the game disk ? wellthats probably the problem right there if the game is checking for existence of the game cd before it enables cdda support. I planned to record a longplay complete with cd audio, but im just too bad at the game |

i think that t-zero drives command are really special and just that it works with cdda support is really great even if you have to do an image. And you can launch from the wb like the original cdrom.

We need Toni to explain if SCSI-emu can help with this case...
As far as I can remember, long time ago when I asked him why I couldn't hear the audio tracks he said it was a problem with missing analog audio connections on the laptops, so the game sends correct commands to the CD but since I had only digital cable connections I couldn't hear anything (as on a real Amiga when you simply connect a 3,5 jack to the cd output...). Then he added this fantastic SCSI-emulation to WUAE since v2.3.0... and I can finally hear CDDA music from emulated WB using Amiga tools like PlayCD (that simply issue scsi commands to play/pause/stop etc.)! So, my assumption was that with this SCSI-emu I would have been able to play also T0 with audio tracks... but at this point I'm unsure... So the questions are: - is it a specific problem of my emulated env (I doubt, it's a "normal" WB 3.9 after all...) - a WUAE bug with T0/still missing some things in the SCSI-emu routines - or simply "it can't work" with T0 the way I supposed to? |
