New Amiga keycap adapter, Mitsumi > CherryMX and CherryMX to Mitsumi

New Amiga keycap adapter, Mitsumi > CherryMX and CherryMX to Mitsumi

This will give users a bit of freedom. Dont even try to do this on a regular 3D printer, they are just not durable enough, i done this on a Resin printer

Hey Kipper, what resin did you use? I'm doing a similar project for an Australian computer, and I'm finding my resin is too brittle.

Oooo. I wonder if these can be used by Atari MegaST owners where the keys are a different type to every other Atari ST computer

does it use a cherry MX switch if so you can use mx > mitsumi adapter. I was also thinking of replacing the actual plunger in a MX switch with female mitsumi type. The switches can be opened easily . Just not sure if my CAD skills are good enough

here we go, i call it Mit-MX switch ...

so now you can swap out the crosshead plunger for this one so you can use original Amiga Keycaps in a CherryMX trpe keyboard

Apparently they are
I hope you're thinking of Open Sourcing this; I'd be awesome to have a real-life tested STEP-file of this stem.

What an incredible idea!

As a mechanical keyboard lover it's the kind of thing that seems so obvious in hindsight, yet I've never seen word of it. Replace the plungers of course! Looking forward to my one day mechanical A500 with original caps!

small update on this... JLC didn't like my design, saying wall thickness blah blah and also would only prinnt 10 pieces per job...

So, back to playing a bit, i changed a few of the dimensions and the hardest part is to set up supports for the resin printer, I finally got it printing good (sorry jlc, no money from me this time). i need to tweak a few things and hopefully come up with a final model soon.

here is a pic of where i am at...

@Kipper2k nice, what model resin printer are using. Looks like the right tool for the job. Could you set up the model sonit prints an array of those at the same time?

This is such great idea and project. I'd love to team these up with one of the 1200 cherry pcb's and A1200.net keycap sets!

This allows you to use Mitsumi hybrid keycaps (such as found in many Amiga keyboards) in Cherry MX switches.
