Giana Sisters - Items

In the game you can collect items like a bomb or a clock. But I forgot how to activate those ?

Except the clock and the bomb (which can be activated with space after you collect them) all items are self activated

So if you collect the water drop, you do not need to do anything to activate it

I just wondered and thought the clock was for freezing enemies?
I can't remember it had to be activated.

the clock must be for freezing enemies (as far as i can remember it ain't for 10 sec. extra time). i don't think it has to be actived by pressing the space bar

anyway don't collect the lollypop - cuz if you do you'll loose the ability to walk on fire (water drop)

Eh? Didn't the lollipop reward you with an extra life?

You may activate the clock or the bomb by holding the fire button and moving the joystick (down? left then right? or so, i don't remember exactly). The clock freezes nearly all enemies temporarily, the bomb destroys them. You can't have the clock and the bomb at the same time. If you collect the clock and the bomb, you can only activate the bomb but not the clock.

that's right. i'm not quite sure if it takes the drop from you in the c64 or the amiga version. there are a few slightly differences between both versions. i just can't remember exactly which.

nooo! the bomb ONLY!
You do *not* have to activate the clock at all, how many times ...?
You collect the clock, and *immediately* you get this "cuckoo clock" sound and the enemies will instantly freeze. For sure.

Well I just tried it and that's not true, at least not for my version (and I think I remember that the clock has to be activated). My version has the leftmousebutton-trainer and flames graphics glitch.

When I collect the clock I don't get a clock sound, but the same sound when collecting the first items (fireball or whatever this should be).

I tried pressing space (plus various combinations with the stick) after collecting the clock. Nothing happens. Same for the bomb.

BTW: Where can I get a version without flames graphics glitch ?

You are all wrong

You can have the bomb and the clock at the same time - activate the clock with joystick left-down and fire, and the bomb with joystick right-down and fire.

And after collecting the lollypop you are still invulnerable to fire.

I subscribe to that. Space definitely has NO influence on the clock (and has never had one)

And @Duke about the lollipop I would've been very surprised if it had another effect *except* for the extra life

Ok, I just tried it. It works as Duke said, you have to activate the clock, and it works as he said.

Thanks alot .

Can you believe that i played this game for over 30 years, but only yesterday i was thinking....
"hmmmm, i wonder how to use this watch & bomb item" ...

Looked in the Manual... "Press Space" .... Nothing (so the Manual is wrong!!!)

Looked on Lemon and here and i was getting closer ...

It´s actually a quarter Circle !!!
(like a Steet Fighter HAaaddooouken move but in reverse)

If you have both Items; The TimeStop and the Bomb then;
Quarter Circle Left to down activates the Timestop and
Quarter Circle Right to down activates the Bomb.

You have to keep holding the fire button while doing the motion. !

Man, 35 years later, but now i know

Hilarious that there are so many variations in this thread. As if everyone lived in their own personal Giana Sisters instance.
