Do you think maybe this is the right version?:

!!!!

Actually, I was holding out for the one-parted version on a compact!

DPainter, you take my breath away. I'm gonna go home tonight and use Deluxe Paint just to bask in your glory! Expect to appear in the scrolltext of my next production (which will be hand-coded in BlitzLogo!)

LOL I'm only worth a scrolltext greeting? I want to be at least a 70x70 sprite in your next intro, complete with spinning disks flying from my afro. And make sure you draw it using only the first version of Deluxe Paint, booted from floppy on a 512k system. This gives me an idea...

EDIT: Now that DOTN is in the Zone, I have more or less exhausted my ability to fill Twistin's requests. He has used me up and will probably dump me now and find a new bitch. Oh well, there's always Dutch beer and thousands of [a] disks to be renamed. :laugh

Hmm I see a bit of confusion here mate... Rainbow Arts were (mainly?) publishers, and not developers. Factor 5 made the game, but Rainbow Arts published it. I think they had an in-house dev team (Manfred Trenz?), I'm not sure, but most of the games I've seen from them were done by someone else.

Strangely enough, the copyright for the Turrican name and related blah!, is with Rainbow Arts and not with Factor 5. That's why their Tornado project is not called "Turrican 3D on a crap nextgen console" or something . If I am right in saying that Manfred Trenz was part of an inhouse dev team at Rainbow Arts, this is logical, since Manfred created Turrican. Factor 5 only made the 16 bit conversions for the first two games, and I think later Manfred joined their ranks. Can somebody clear this up?

i've gone way off-topic now :P Sorry!

Rainbow Arts/Factor 5

Correct, Manfred Trenz was part of Rainbow Arts but then joined Factor 5 after Turrican.

Other than that, Rainbow Arts wrote none of their own games after they published Factor 5's first game, and went bust by the time Turrican 3 came out. BC Kid was a project for Hudson Soft, but in the scheme of things you wouldn't say 'Special FX's conversion of Hudson Hawk was shit.... you would say Oceans conversion of Hudson Hawk was shit....' bad example as its a good game.

When Rainbow Arts published Turrican, how many non-Factor 5 games can you name? Not many!

Thanks again for the uploads, DP. Nice to have both MegaFortress Mission Disks out of the way! For those keeping track of the TOSEC naming stuff, Doogie is:

MegaFortress Mission Disk 2 - Operation SkyMaster (1992)(Three-Sixty)[cr Crack Deluxe]

I turned up another groovy game that I found before it ever made it to the MIA list...anyone ever heard of or played:

Wacus The Detective (1997/LK Avalon)

It's a Polish platformer that is really quite well done. I haven't had the time to give it the full gaming time it deserves, but what I have played of it is beautifully animated and drawn and appears to have a lot of depth. BTTR lists it as being AGA and HD-only, but the copy I have played fine in ECS or AGA, as well as from its 3 floppies. I'd upload it, but 1997 is probably considered too new. Shame there are no Polish to English converters out there, but it's not really neccesary here unless you insist on knowing the story or reading the texts on the intro.

Thanks, once again, DPainter for finding the full version of "In the Dead of the Night"...excellent work, you bottomless pit of Amiga rarities, you! And such a quality game, too. I wish I had the time to fully immerse myself in this one, but it's at the top of my list for when I do have the time!

They're developing videogames for PC, PS2, PSX, Arcades and so on.

Their last effort for the Amiga is Nightlong (distributed by ClickBoom).

You can find all the details at http://www.trecision.com

Tex 06

I uploaded the game that I think is Tex 06, but as I have no list of the complete Tex titles I'm not 100% sure it's the right game. Does anybody know of such a list?

Here's the screens from the game:

I did some research on it a little while ago digging through some of my old BBS uploads lists. These were the Tex games that were uploaded that year (1993), which is not complete, but it's more than I could find on the web!

TEX 1 - MEFISTO
TEX 2 - THE RED DRAGON
TEX 3 - GHOSTS
TEX 4 - SAN FRANCISCO
TEX 5 - DIABOLICO INTRIGO
TEX 6 - LOTTA SUL MARE (TR: BATTLE ON THE SEA)
TEX 7 - EL MONISCO
TEX 9 - IL FIORE DELLA MORTE
TEX 10 - KENTO NON PERDONA
TEX 11 - DUELLO ALL'ALBA
TEX 12 - LA MANO ROSSA (TR: THE RED HAND)

You'd think with all of the Bonelli and Simulmondo references out in webland that this info would be in a lot of places, but apparently not. (sigh)

You can add to the list of titles:

TEX 1 - MEFISTO
TEX 9 - IL FIORE DELLA MORTE
TEX 10 - KENTO NON PERDONA

Also Twistin, could you check the title of TEX 12 ?

Cause in italian doesn't make sense, i believe the correct title could be "LA MANO ROSSA" (i.e. "THE RED HAND", which makes more sense than "THE RED MARIUS" where "LA" translates "THE" but for female objects/persons).

Thanks for catching that one, ptrchiappe. That was someone else's typo, but it may have never been fixed had it not been for your keen (Italian) eye. Where did you come across the additional games from? And any translations you have for thes game names (and any of the other Simulmondo/Bonelli games) in either direction would be most welcome. My research has left me more knowledge of the Tex Willer comics than ANY of the Simulmondo games!

I have numbers 6-7-9-10 for the PC , which i bought as a pack at a flea market because i thought they were all Amiga games like the first of the pack (one of the Diabolik titles).

Now the translations:

TEX 1 - MEFISTO (it's an abbreviation of one of the devil's names MEFISTOFELE)
TEX 2 - IL DRAGO ROSSO (THE RED DRAGON)
TEX 3 - FANTASMI (GHOSTS)
TEX 4 - SAN FRANCISCO (i guess it's about the city and not a saint )
TEX 5 - DIABOLICO INTRIGO (DIABOLIC INTRIGUE/PLOT - don't know which is best in english)
TEX 6 - LOTTA SUL MARE (BATTLE ON THE SEA)
TEX 7 - EL MONISCO (it's spanish so i can't help, maybe Akira can give a translation here if it means something)
TEX 9 - IL FIORE DELLA MORTE (THE FLOWER OF DEATH)
TEX 10 - KENTO NON PERDONA (KENTO DOESN'T FORGIVE/PARDON - again choose which is more appropriate)
TEX 11 - DUELLO ALL'ALBA (DUEL AT DAWN)
TEX 12 - LA MANO ROSSA (THE RED HAND)

And that's all for TEX WILLER, i'll try to post later the list/translations of the other series.

The Global files are Global Domination (Impressions).

The Dragons Breath files are the (bad) Trilogy crack.

The cricket (#2585) file is "Cricket Amiga". I have never heard of this one, but somebody must have info on it.
