FireForce on 1200

Hi peeps,
I am trying to run Fireforce on my 1200 from floppy with little success. is it not 1200 compatible without whdload (i have tried booting as a 500) or do i have a bad image? just wondered if anybody else running it with no problems.
cheers

Try to press both mouse buttons at A1200 startup, before the KS image appear, and change the display mode from AGA to OCS or ECS (if i remember correctly, dont use the boot in ages).
If that dosent work you will need a degrader, its a simple utility disk to replace your KS 3.1 with KS 1.3 until Hard Reset.

Fire Force doesn't work on A1200 because of the useless stepper routine in the fileloader, several AGA fixes are about of it, shouldn't be too hard to locate.

From the filenames in TOSEC I can't see any AGA fixed versions. This is not to say that one of them doesn't have this applied though, haven't tested personally:

... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 1 of 2).adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr QTX].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr QTX][t +21 ATX].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr TSL][t +18 TSL].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr TSL][t +18 TSL][a].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 1 of 2)[WB].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 2 of 2).adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 2 of 2)[a].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 2 of 2)[a2].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr QTX][t +21 ATX].adf
... Fire Force (1992)(I.C.E.)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr TSL][t +18 TSL].adf

Anyway, I've uploaded the CD32 version to The Zone! for you

None of this versions seems to be fixed for AGA, as you already said. Isn't Relokick working here?

been through these - I think, most anyway - and cant find one that works. its been an afternoons work cooking all those adf's.
I cooked 2 different relokicks to adf disk but niether seemed to cook on HD or DD disk, giving me bad sectors, so have bit the bullet and purchased one of ebrobber.
gggrrrrrrr
its a good job i like my loft and have given up smoking -- where's the gin
will go try zone version - cheers my friend nice one DamienD

I am not able to find any AGA-fixed version, probably an AGA-fix for this game was never released.

Oops, forgot that you use a real Amiga and not WinUAE.

You could try using the HiSoft Squirrel CD32 emulator. See these threads for more details:

... Asim CD32 emulator - how to use it?
... why not microcosm (page 3 mainly)

File is back in The Zone! for you

Both myself and NOMAD did an AGA fix for this game, if you can't find it, i'll refix it, its a simple stepper fix for the loader, its all that stops it working.

Relockick won't do a damn thing.
