Favorite Sierra adventure?
One of my all time favorite adventure was the "Hero's Quest: So you want to be a hero". Very nice graphics and excellent story with many funny elements. I remember having it in the original box.

For me it's definitely the first Leisure Suit Larry. It was such a great change from the usual videogame tropes (fantasy, sci fi etc). Playing as a lothario in a seedy city - whoa. I also love the early gfx in this one, much better than the sequels because it's very clever and works better as an imaginative caricature.
Close behind would be the Manhunter games. Totally far out. |

Pfwoa. It's a tie for Space Quest 3 and Police Quest 2 for me. Space Quest 3 I love because it is the more accessible game of those which required typed commands, I could figure it out all on my own without a walkthrough and the humor is just right. But like most Space Quest games it's incredibly linear and does not really involve a lot of exploration so you notice how short it is. Leaves you hungry for more.
Police Quest 2 is brutal because you need to know a whole lot... I had to use a walkthrough at several points in the game. But it's just so cool to do proper cop things and the tension in the game is insane. It's quite cool how they managed to turn the cartoony gangster from the first game into a really frightening antagonist even if he's not actually present for most of the game. |

Sierra adventure games are ok.
Give me LucasArts / Lucasfilm adventure games over these any day ...but if I had to choose then Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate Patti In Pursuit Of The Pulsating Pectorals! and Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon. |

I bought SQ 2 at a local computer shop, seemed to have difficulty in getting it to work on 1.3 A500, though it did run on ocassion. Seem to remember taking it back and getting North & South instead ...
Anyways, quite enjoyed Police Quest 2, seemed really cool but Sierra games were extremely tough, with no readily available tips or hints about at the time. I just find them too frustrating and annoying! |

The best ones never made it to the Amiga - even the ones that did were not great conversions (imho) but would agree with the first LSL
Didn't the Williams sell for many millions and now have a mega yacht and sail around the World? Nice life! |

SQ3 for me. I wasn't really such a big Sierra fan, even though we played a lot of those as a kid.

The latter games only make sense on hdd, having to swap disk every 5 seconds could drive even a patient man mad. Some of them also start showing the inferior gfx, I think it was Space Quest 4 which looks really dire compared to the PC.
