Another long shot

Seeing as modules appear to sometimes be found even by the vaguest of descriptions, I thought I'd ask about one that is pretty hopeless. I'm not even sure if I would recognize it if I heard it!

I can only remember that the ambience made me think of a rain-forest, and that it somehow looked pretty while playing in a tracker. I think there may have been an instrument there that played every now and then and made me think of a chirp of some sort of a tropical bird, or then I'm confusing it with some other module.

I never had very many modules. I think all were from the same time period and possibly some related sources, so it may be relevant. I think I had this module on the same set of disks as robotron.2 and dealin dope. There may also have been crystalhammer, some version of popcorn, and eine kleine nachtmusik. Probably none of this is is relevant, but it's a long shot to begin with.

The bird noise you may be thinking of could be from the track Pacific State from the band 808 State, I've heard it in several other things too, but this is the one that sticks in my mind.

I looked it up and its certainly similar to what I remember, but I dont think its the exact sample. I might be wrong, of course.

More than likely what happened was that during the hey day of the Amiga, people sampled everything and mixed it together, so you probably heard bits of 808 State, along with Pet Shop Boys, Prince, Art Of Noise.

My goodness, the start of the Mashup.

For ultimate obscurity, if you can find it, download Blue from the RCA Synthesizer, then listen to The Beatles, The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill.

Even one of my favourites, Kraftwerk, stole a line from a much earlier classical piece for their 1983 track Tour De France.

Take me to music trivia nights

It's been thirteen years, but for some closure I now believe that I was just thinking of echoing.mod.

The memory is so vague that I can't be more than 80% on this, but it being almost certain that I did at least hear the song back then makes it a better fit than I ever dared to hope for.

Great song, too.

Side track: This is probably Heatbeat's Anette. I was at the party where this tune participated in the music compo, I also might have played a Stunt Car Racer in two player mode with him, not sure about this memory though

Anyway, here's a tropical themed module with birds! Tropical Sunset by Marillion:
