C= Amiga 1200, MB R 1D4 and TEAC FD-235F

Well it looks like the Floppy Disk drive on my A1200 has indeed stopped working. I had an inkling that it was coming, but I’m still a little surprised, because this system has only really been used maybe a dozen times over the past 20 years or so, and then only for Scrabble (Of all things). Surely fatigue can’t be the problem.

Inside it is absolutely spotless, not even a speck of dust beneath the keys, on the shielding or the floppy (heads etc).

The system is the Floppy only version of the 'Commodore' Amiga 1200, motherboard Revision 1D4 and the floppy is a TEAC FD-235F.

Are there any obvious known problems with this particular system configuration that I may have missed whilst browsing this forum.

The TEAC floppy is spotlessly clean inside and outside. The Caps appear fine, externally and visually that is.

When a Disk in inserted, the drive itself spins for about three secs, accompanied by Orange LED then it's straight back to the Purple ‘Insert Disk’ screen.

When the drive is empty, I get the good old familiar two click Amiga heartbeat.

Apologies, because I know that this must be old ground for many of you.

Any advice?

Many thanks for your time, in advance.

Mark
