New CD32 controller nearly here

Our new CD32 controller is nearly ready for the marketplace.

At the moment we are waiting for the first batch of PCBs.

We are calling it the AmiPad 32, it's electrically the same as the original CD32 controller, but it is a Playstation style unit.

The price - around £39.99 or £33.99 if you buy direct from me.

So you can forget about those £200 Honey Bee pads - this one's the Killer Bee..

Yes, there is no circuit board in it, I'm currently waiting for the first batch to come back from the board house.

Yes, but as always it's cheaper if you buy it directly from me.

In this case about six pounds cheaper.

@s325 That is truly hideous!

I take it the production version wont have the AmiPad32 sticker and the buttons wont be just painted PSX buttons?

I think with select button you can swap joystick/mouse function and use analog stick.

Looks indeed like a painted PS pad with a sticker, but I guess it has the adapter built-in?

Why use the Playstation type controller? That d-pad has always been really bad to use.
Much better to have a Genesis-type controller!

I agree. The PSX d-pad is one of the worst ever made. I would like to see the CD32 pad electronics in an original Sega Genesis 6-button pad, or in the Sega Saturn PAL model 2/Japan pad. THAT would be awesome.

It's a totally different circuit board.

It's not a PSX pad it's a PSX-style pad, and millions of Playstation users would disagree with you there.

This gamepad will let you play CD32 games. If you can come up with something better I'm all ears...

You take it wrong.

Do you have something against paint?

Your car wouldn't last long without it!

And I promise you, while you're playing your CD32 games, the last thing on your mind will be "Ooh I can't cope with touching these painted buttons".

Hehe
