This is more a continuation from my previous thread about Web Browsing On Classic Amiga 8MB
I am getting a bit further with the Setup (Amiga 1200 8MB OS 3.2.2.1) Basically my iphone se 2016 IOS16 (Which is my router as i use a personal hotspot - i have no 'wi-fi' router here and just use the 4G as i have unlimited data) is probably too high security for the linksys card so what i have done is connect an android phone to the iphones hotspot then created another hotspot from the android phone (Nokia 4.2 Android 11) but with no encryption and then edited the wireless prefs set up by prism2v2 as the following where "AndroidPhone" is the name of my network: # Match any unencrypted network network={ ssid="AndroidPhone" key_mgmt=NONE } When i run Miami now (I have set up with SANA-2 driver pointing to prism2.device, set a ipaddress from my ipconfig which i found by connecting a windowspc to the nokia then changing the last digits to something else for my amigas address, i then found the subnetmask as 255.255.255.0 and put that in too. Default gateway in the Miami settings though is greyed out. I tried clicking online and it says i am online I then tried Lubricator and tried the dropdown menu for demo suggestions but i get a message: Search Proxy: Connection Error This is as far as i can currently get |

I suggest using cable based connection. WiFi is really not worth the hassle IMO. I am using WiFi with miami and its kind of painful. Need a second router that supports old wpa and sometimes i have to reboot up to 5 times to establish connection. Miami saying "online" is really not meaning much. Reconnecting often hangs the machine and once established i only get 150kb/s max vs 450kb/s with cable. But once connection is established it is stable.

I have the same setup (Miami, same PCMCIA WiFi card etc.) and no issues at all. However, I have a turbo card installed in my A1200, which may make a huge difference in connection negotiation. Even with that, it takes minutes.
Note that the Linksys card can be updated to support WPA2. |

This is what I still have: the two main firmware parts that need updating and the firmware upload tool. Sadly, I did not save any documentation on how to do it.

Oh, i've just started imp3 though and i am watching a Demo - does this mean i am online or are they all stored in the program?
If I am online I wonder why the Lubricator is not working |

Miami comes with a Ping command. That's the best way to quickly test if you are online and if DNS is working. Ping an IP from your network and after that, some domain name like Google.com. If both works, you are online and any other issue is with the programs themselves.

Just pass it an IP address (to test connectivity) or a domain name (to test DNS, too). It runs from the shell, btw.
