Is GFX available in a homepage? I have it but, i notice there's not sticky thread with the full info to download GFXrip, to it's source code, and even the the only site out there with a sprite archive.
That makes it really hard for people to start out, let alone rip their own stuff. |

I managed to find a reference to v1.06 of LvlRip + a tutorial, so I've got that, but the thread mentioned a new version available soon from the Zone. I'm obviously a little late for that one, I think

Is the original writer still around in here?
I tried compiling but got a lot of deprecated\syntax errors from Aleggro. Was using Code::Blocks,GCC MinGW 3.1, and Alegro 4.20. I don't use Alegro so that stopped me on my tracks right there. Anyone suceeded in compiling it? |

Yeah, it seems Allegro broke the API from 4.2. I tried examples from the 4.2 distribution and it gives the same Const pointer conversion errors, it has something to do with Allegro being C, not C++, seems to need some hack to compile, but the docs aren't clear... too much hassle, i'll give up

Ok, figured it out
Simply had void pointers as in (in bold): Quote:
I have no idea what the hell went through the Allegro guys head to change it's API and not thoroughly document the changes needed to be made so that the code compiles in newer versions. I never found clear instructions in the docs. |
