Amiga arcade style games with a 1930s style gangster theme?
I was watching Gangster Squad and I then tried looking for some Dick Tracy Megadrive sprites for the cars (that was a bust, lots of editing to remove obstructions in front of cars in screenshots on moby).
Then I realised I could only think of one 1930s-1950s etc style old fashioned gangster themed games on Amiga. Were there any others or is King of Chicago the only one that has any kind of arcade sequences at all? |

not really gangster, but a sort of "in that era" type game would be Detroit at a big push.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will check them out a bit later and hopefully try some out when I get the Gotek into the external drive casing to use with X-Copy

oh man Gangster Squad. That one needs to go on the todo list, I completely overlooked it.
I am missing a part of the story here though. You are watching a gangster movie and... then went looking for car sprites? Not a gangster game, but the style of car in Dick Tracy is very reminiscent of Street Rod. |

Big fenders and side steps reminded me of King of Chicago, and then I wondered if Megadrive Dick Tracy had those kind of cars, then I did some 320x224 sized google image searches, then thought "wouldn't it be cool to make a gangster themed game"

Absolutely. It also seems like it would be really hard requiring some serious graphical talent.

Godfather was just a Robocop clone, took forever to load, and you were dead in 30s, then awaiting the reload again...... it sat on my shelf for years.

Lol Just reviews that state "It's good." or "It sucks". 2 minutes of a logo flipping around, then 10 minutes of reading out the names of supporters.

Oh and don't forget within 2 seconds of the video starting make sure to tell people to subscribe AND click the notification icon, then start talking about some totally unrelated sponsored product, then tell people to give you money first before anybody has even decided they like 1 video you ever made

...and then if there's any time left between the pointless intro you've seen (or skipped) a thousand times before and the blood-sucking outro, a semblance of pretence that they feel passionately about the current bandwagon riding a gravy train... I mean subject matter.

...and while at it, don't forget to devise a plot to suck money from your suckers, erm, followers, involving threats of litigation and pictures of your son.

I think we just designed the very worst Youtube channel. Now I'm morbidly curious how many subscribers such an atrocity could get.

Sadly, probably tonnes of 'em. The biggest channels seem to be the worst offenders, which tells us what? That all this whiny pleading for donations and ego-stroking actually works and is worth doing? (as long as you have no self-respect or any for your audience). I hope not; it wouldn't paint a rosy picture of the human race.
In the case of the Lady Decade/Top Hat Gaming Man debacle, maybe notoriety is enough of a goal in itself. Even if you're only famous for being lower than pondlife. I wonder if the newly hoodwinked Patreons outweigh the ones who have cancelled their membership following an awakening. That would be the real test. Another essential feature we'd need to stick on the 'worst YouTube channel' checklist is an annoying catchphrase. You've not made it unless you have that on tap, assigned to a mixing deck button. |
