EAB doesn't allow the sharing of SPS files as this is the official forum of the SPS guys and they don't want to be seen as sharing the files.

I have them both whdload but I don't think JohnnyWalker wan't them in that format.

Can you explain what's wrong with both of them and also post CRC32s of the .ADFs you are using?

I haven't see any issues in either game using .ADFs...

I remember First Samurai had a weird copy-protection a la Turrican 1, where an essential item is missing in Level 1 if crack is not 100%, maybe JohnnyWalker is talking about that?

Thanks for everyone's responses! First Samurai is weird, I've not idea why it doesn't work. The first disc loads perfectly, but when it asks for Disc 2, it stops. It's really weird and I've tried it will the safest config I can think of (A500 with everything set to max compatibility).

I don't know how to get the CRCs in order to let you know what version I'm using?

Robocod: I've not got an ADF

I just haven't played it in a very long time!

JohnnyWalker: makes sense if you tell the version of WinUAE you're using. FS is known to have had some "issues" in the past; however, this was aeons ago ...

Unless new cracks have surfaced since a few years ago, there's no known working cracks. Get a few levels into the game and you'll find things don't work or are missing (I can't remember which)

I used to play First Samurai extensively once. My conclusion was that after reaching a certain level (I can't for the life of me remember which), something screws up. I really don't remember what that something was, but it was definitely due to a bad crack.

I have no idea if there have been new cracks. I haven't looked at TOSEC for years now, so I'm not the person to ask.

Actually, if I recall correctly, there may have been an effort here to get a complete version? Yup. Found it at http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=8636 . I don't have those "new" cracks, so I don't know if they work. I no longer have the time (or energy) to play through it anymore, so no idea.

Also, I've just uploaded First Samurai [Disk 2-2].zip {CRC ec02688d} which is a different 2nd disk from all other versions mentioned so far i.e:

No problem - this disk is in TOSEC meanwhile, it reads:

First Samurai, The (1991)(Image Works)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr CSL][a3].adf {CRC d558baf4}

BTW it's funny that I completely forgot about having posted about this issue MYSELF back 4 years ago!

The collection of .ADFs that I have were put through "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-04-29_CM).dat" around September last year...

I've just tried to find the following in the latest "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-10-19_CM).dat" but they were not there:

... First Samurai [Disk 1-2].zip {CRC 3885c0ab} *** now in The Zone! ***
... First Samurai [Disk 2-2].zip {CRC ec02688d} *** already in The Zone! ***

I haven't had the chance to try them though

Yes this one is, second confirmed by me.
