Idea: Probably useless, but nice feature
I just had an idea, which I haven't seen done in any forums.
I thouhgt it would look nice, be a cool (but probably pointless) feature. And it is..... An interactive member-map. Every member choose his/her country from a drop down list (privacy purists can specify "None" if they want, this would be default for new database field). Then we can see a map of the world with lots of little pins in it, which are not pins at all but EAB members. You then click the pin and it takes you to the persons profile. What a cute little feature eh? |

Great for organising a round the world trip!
Seems all the Darlo members have disappeared as fast as they arrived (eg Mike, Lucy). No matter, that just means I get a special pin all to myself! |

I think that's a nice little idea - maybe expand in a couple of sub-maps smaller countries with lots of members, otherwise the little UK might be a little overcrowded

I´ve seen this feature on other Boards recently and think it´s a great idea
It´s also nice for beginners with Hardware Problems for example so he can see if anyone lives next to him and can maybe travel there to get HW problems sorted etc. ! |

On the other hand maybe instead there should be 2 fields, latitude & longitude so your location can be as specific as you want. This I imagine is what the Countryname would be converted to anyway for whatever map pin-pointing code was used. A list could be presented for generic latitude/longitude locations of each country for people who don't know/care or are worried about privacy. Here is a good site to find out your latitude/longitude - for UK it seems very detailed, right down to town/village level: http://www.calle.com/world/index.html |

Nice idea, and could also have the option of viewing those online, or all user pins
