Can this be fixed without having the source code?
Like resetting the "planets-counter" to 0 once it reaches 9 (similar to a crack trainer)?

John, according to the second and third manuals here, you are supposed to get a 'Double Score Bonus' when reaching Pluto. Do you remember if this happened? I have a feeling this feature in the game wasn't coded properly, I don't remember ever achieving this on any version I have played, even the original disks. I always thought this crash-bug was related to that.

Interesting! Does this happen with the disk version on OCS as well, or only on AGA?

I remember back in the day I found a bug in Pinball Fantasies in the original disk version as well. If I achieved over 1 billion points on Partyland or so, it always crashed. I even sent my disks back to the publisher and got a different version in the mail, still the bug remained.

I'm tempted to hack the game so I don't have to play fairly do trigger a bug if there's one.

I expected my score to double and was looking forward to that. Took me a lot of attempts to finally reach Pluto, it's hard.
Unfortunately nothing happened as you can see at 13:30 in this video:

Then, when you go to the "next" planet (should probably be Mercury again), it crashes (at 16:10).

Did it with both the IPFs on OCS and the WHDLoad version on 68020 68000, too (with KS 2.04).

Played up to the critical point again using savestates and created a savestate right before the bug happens: http://eab.abime.net/attachment.php?...5&d=1624877623
It's the WHDLoad version, but ran with 68000 CPU and KS 2.04 (wanted to still have cycle exact OCS emulation).

Lighting Ignition is no problem - it doesn't lead to the bug.
It's all about the FUEL letters. If you light them and go up the ramp you proceed to the next planet. When you do this 10 times the game crashes.

Note that when you reach Pluto it does not crash. Only if you then light the FUEL letters again and go up the ramp for a 10th time.

At 15:35 I reach Pluto. At 17:50 I go up the ramp after having lit the FUEL letters again and the crash occurs.

Here is now a savestate of the WHDLoad version.
You just need to hit the ramp once and the crash will happen.

If someone is going to have a look at this, maybe at the same time they could fix the order of the planets? Venus is apparently further from the Sun than Earth
