Problems using the controller extension cable genesis in Amiga

I bought a controller extension cable like this one for Amiga.I usually use a genesis controller to play but there are CD32 games with more buttons then I change the genesis controller by a CD32 controller.I have bought the extension cable because it's easier to me change the controller in this way.In long time the extension cable it worked perfectly but today I have used the CD32 controller and only works with one button just like a normal controller. After several tests the CD32 controller works again but surely it will return to happen.Anybody can advise to me?

Dunno about your specific issue, sorry. But are you turning the Amiga off before changing the controller? Not doing soon risks damaging a CIA chip.

Good luck.
