hi all

i am wanting to create a 4gig .hdf file in winuae 1.6.1 i have it set to a standard A1200 with a 4mb memory expansion which is the same as my real A1200, when i go to create the hard drive it says it is 4000mb when in workbench 3.1 it shows as 984mb

any suggestions?

i am getting a 4 gig cf card which will be put into my A1200, i was hoping to only have one partition which i was going to setup in winuae then just copy it to the cf card, at the least i would like say a 512mb as dh0: then the rest as dh1:

I ended up correcting this problem by changing the surfaces to "8" when creating the .hdf, it stops UAE having a hairy.

thanks for your reply earlier.

This HDF will not work in a real Amiga when written to CF. You should set Sectors, Surfaces and Reserved to 0 (just click on Enable RDB mode) and use HDToolbox to partition it. That's the same you have to do with the CF card.

No, it is your AmigaOS version which is too old to understand more than 65535 cylinders. EDIT: message is just a warning that hardfile may not work correctly with current geometry settings.

(and see above answer, you really should use hdtoolbox)
