Seems that only the final Pink's version raised this issue on the Vampire (unrelated to the trainer/2nd button patch).

Classic, ROFL

You mean the all singing / dancing / super compatible / supposed Amiga replacement AKA the Vampire has issues with this?

That's pure gold

What a great sales pitch: "Tiny Bobble runs on all Amiga models / accelerators and emulators except the Vampire".

@pink: you've confused the poor thing with your Amiga sorcery. Maybe you should join the Apollo team to help them improve compatibility.

Runs well on my different systems, but is there a reason it won’t run on NTSC Amigas? I have to force my Amigas to PAL to play. And there is still a large black gap at the bottom of the screen. Why is that?

this release of BB is on the same level of the arcade version
but fact is I have been playing both to compare and Id say that tiny bobble is easier than the arcade version

also it gives more fruits to collect and more candies so I prefer this instead the arcade because is more playlable
however the music sounds better in mame/arcade version

anyways this is fantastic compared with the original lame Amiga port done in 1989
being this game so fast and smooth I wonder which program or computer language the author used to code this port ?

Pink, is it possible to make a list of included triggers in this game? I mean something like "complete level in 10 seconds to reveal letters in next level" etc.

I've finally got round to playing the game, it's right up there with the best arcade ports of all time (Pang, Rainbow Islands etc). I love this for the Amiga and thanks Pink for bringing it. You've raised the bar for sure on the platform and it's just what we need. Awesome work.

Some technical infos:
  • To achieve high performance the game uses a copperlist to do all blits while the CPU uses the idle DMA cycles.
  • Pretracker was used to have minimum chipmem usage (3.7kb) for music
  • Between certain levels Doynax is used to decompress new gfx to chipmem as needed.
  • For player animation a small asm routine is used to copy new images from fast to chipmem as needed. 180 animation frames are in memory for the two players.
  • The game uses 3 chipmem buffers with 256x256 with 5 bitplanes. Two for display and one restore buffer.
  • All tiles are placed in fastmem and copied with the cpu to a backbuffer and blitted to the display buffers

I haven't yet a chance to try but with a 2 button joystick will the 2nd button act as jump? Imho could be really nice and arcade-style!

That's really cool, thank you @ross .

Yes i know i'm annoying , but would be cool to add a way/commandline switch to just load without trainer so modifying the startup sequence with for example -notrainer it will just load without waiting for lmb so playing on android and emulators like lakka should be easier?

By the way, if someone needs a trainer for the game you can read the info file for a (big) hint.

To sum up the requests:
- a nice trainer intro (Alpha One done it )
- 2nd button usage (done)
- command line to disable trainer (doable)
- 60Hz mode (I did some tests and it works quite well, some slowdowns but with a fast machine is fine)

That's enough?

Interesting background effect. Neat trainer menu for a great game.
