Redshapez, error #80000005 when I try to Zoom
Hi,
I'm trying to get started with Blitz Basic, but I'm having issues with the appliation REDShapeZ that's included in the blitz basic support suite. I can start the application and load Images, grab shapes. But I'm running it on an old CRT-TV so I need to be able to zoom so I can get some precision when I grab shapes. Unfortunately the application crashes every time I try and use zoom. It give the error "Program failed (error #80000005). wait for disk activity to finnish" And two options, Suspend or Reboot. This happens every time. Is someone using redshapez with zoom successfully? I was thinking it might be some compatibility issue with my computer perhaps, I have an A1200 with an ACA1230 accelerator, running WB3.1. Perhaps there is a better application that Redshapez that I can use? |

That's an integer division by zero error. Not very subtle, and you'd expect the programmer to spot and fix errors like these, so chances are it's because of the ACA1230. Try disabling all CPU caches, and if that doesn't work try removing the accelerator altogether.

I've always had problems with this program (on an 030 and 040), it does seem very buggy.
I think there's plenty of shapes tools out there though I've never taken the time to try most of them. I use one called ShapesMan which is fine if you don't need AGA support but even that has been known to crash sometimes. Perhaps do an Aminet search and see what you can dig up. |

First, I`ve never seen blitz and I don`t know what shapes are but I guess it is a special blitz gfx format. If so, how can I convert iff gfx to shapes?
I want to make shape files (e.g. arena.shps) for the game Amiga Arena Bubble Stones2 Edition but contact the author failed. In the docs he wrote: "Of course you can modify this play area only, but it must use the same palette as for the shapes. That`s why you must send me your work to create the shapes file." |
