Testing A4000 daughterboard

My 4000 doesn’t reckognize the toaster card when inserted.
Not sure if it is the toaster or daughterboard itself. No other cards to try so how do I determine?

System config and sysinfo show only warp engine cpu card. Is the daughterboard supposed to show?

No the daughterboard won't show and the Toaster will not show up as an autoconfig device. You need to install the Toaster software to see if it is responding-even then you can get a Video Toaster not responding due to sync issues, wrong video cabling and an incorrect software install.

Ok, thanks. The toaster software is installed and just the main card. When I start program very briefly starts the closes with h not found.

I did consult manual a while back, and it made it seem very easy as in autoconfig.

You probably want to try running AutoHue first, launching the Toaster Software for the first time should try to do this too.

If you get Toaster not responding, next thing to try is for a manual sync adjustment. Remember you need a composite monitor and preferably a video camera hooked up to input 1 to do this. A multimeter is recommended for this procedure as well.

Also, set your workbench for an NTSC screenmode, not Multiscan or VGA or anything but NTSC.

Thanks for the tips.
I found the latest and last release 4.3 which was public domained by NewTek.
Installed it all and now I get working screens and can use the included software.

I will get another input on this soon and play with it.
