trackdisk.device + slow ram - not friendly with one another?

Okay, very very very simple question. Is there any way to make trackdisk.device - aka JSR -1C8(A6) - actually write data into slow memory - aka - $C00000+ - ?

I tried to do this but although the disk goes past the tracks as per usual the data I want written never actually appears in that section of memory afterwards. Is there another command I need to run first before invoking that JSR or is it never going to be possible in a gajillion years?

It's been possible for 25 years or so, since Kickstart 2.0. If you're on 1.4 or earlier you have to load to chipmem and copy from there.

really? can't remember I ever ran into that td.device requires a chipmem buffer.. suppose it uses the blitter for the mfm codec then?
