How to loose catapult battle in Defender of the Crown 2 CD32

Does Defender of the Crown 2 CD32 WHDLoad patch have a permanent cheat enabled in catapult battles? I cannot loose. I always get new Cannonballs.

Is this a bug in the slave?

Also I turned on preload but the screen still flickers at the beginning of all mini games.

I absolutely love the Defender of the Crown series

Finished both games numerous times, but it has been a while since I last played either.

This is how I understand the castle / catapult battles.

You get something like 10 shots and then the fight between armies begins.

It takes something like 5 - 6 boulders launched at different heights to completely break down the wall.

Once you've done that, you send in flaming cauldrons. This kills people in the army and so reduces enemy numbers before the battle starts.

To be honest though, never played any of the WHDLoad versions... it's always been the floppy disk, CDTV and CD32 versions.
