What's the best replayer to use in demos/games etc. Also how do you fade a MOD beforte it has ended?

I prefer TrackerPacker3.1 by Complex - but many others like ThePlayer.
Fading the volume can de done with the TrackerPacker code IIRC, but is probably really up to you with other players. |

I like "The Player 6.1" that can be found on Aminet. Excellent compression and even allows (lossy) compression of sampledata.

P61 is pretty ok, once you have fixed all the small and subtle bugs in it.
As for fading the volume, check your player source for volume variables, most of the players have these. Then you just decrease the value stored there in your vertical blank (or some other timed routine) until you reach zero, i.e. volume is muted. If you can't find any volume variables in your player source then either check where the AUDXVOL registers are set ($dff0a8 for voice0, $dff0b8 for voice1 etc.) or just look for the "Set Volume" command, i.e. the routine that's called if there's a volume change in the module (e.g. cmd C in protracker). Hope that helps. |
