Help for A2000 rev 6.4 board!
Hi, I have found this board in a friend's garage. It dont'have battery, so PCB is quite new. This board don't boot. It have a infinite loop: dark grey -> yellow -> dark grey -> yellow and so on. If I connect an accelerator board colours changed to: dark grey -> light grey -> yellow -> dark grey -> light grey -> yellow forever.....
I have changed CPU & ROM sockets. I have cleaned Agnus pins without fortune. Can someone help me? Regards. |

You need to check other things too, like:
- Check the PSU - does it deliver a stable 5.00v (+/- 5%)? - Capacitors. They might look OK but inside they might be dry as a cat! Especially check the big ones that are buffering the vcc rails, and the ones around the CPU. - Look for fried resistors or burnt traces - Look for bad contacts on the other custom chip sockets and the chips themselves - Reseat the other custom chips - Place your finger on each chip RAM and custom chips to see if any of them are getting suspiciously hot very fast (if some of them does, it might be a sign of it being fried) Last edited by 8bitbubsy; 13 April 2011 at 23:17. |
