MUI problems with WinUAE 0.8.22.R8

I have downloaded MUI38usr.lha from the aminet. After unpacking it i am trying to install it to my emulated Amiga installation on a directory installed - (as AIAB) not to a HDFile, WB 3.1 on WinUAE 0.8.22.R8. It installs all OK but after the reboot MUI won't start as it should be! I am trying to configure it and then i hit "save" but nothing happens!
What is the problem?

Well, AIAB is not AmigaOS. James has totally misconfigured the whole setup. In order to add a package like MUI to it, you have to be an expert.

However, if you are able to open the MUI configuration window, I suppose it installed correctly. And if you click on Save, the window just disappears, nothing more should happen. What do you expect ?

Try using a HDF (Hard Disk File) as I found some programs can have problems with windows directories

You don't understand. I made a blank directory and installed WB 3.1 on it. After i tried to install MUI and it won't work on startup. The config window opens but after i save the settings they won't be applied. So it is installed but it doen't work. I tried to a HDFile but also there it won't work. Do i have to put some file in WBstartup folder or anything else?

Mui

Did you actually do an Install of WB3.1 or just copied the directories?
To sae settings, they have to be saved to ENV: (RAM:Env) and ENVARC (sysrefs/env-archive). So I would check startup-sequence to ensure these folders are assigned correctly. MUI is just a bunch of libraries and objects. No startup program required.

Maybe a WinUAE bug, fixed in a later release!
Are you aware that you're using a rather OLD version of WinUAE?
Latest is 0.9.91 - maybe you should upgrade to that first and then test again!
